KennelBoss vs BreederBuddy
The closest thing to KennelBoss on the admin side, and the furthest from it on the selling side.
$449/year billed yearly. Marketplace listings, buyer video calls and the $500 reservation deposit are included.
$300/year billed yearly. A breeder website is a separate add-on at +$29.99/month or +$300/year. Custom-designed sites are quoted from $1,000.
BreederBuddy is a well-built kennel management system with real payment plumbing behind it — Stripe cards and ACH, deposit tracking, contracts a buyer signs, and a portal they log into. Where it stops is before the part that finds the buyer. Nothing in BreederBuddy puts your litter in front of someone who is not already talking to you.

How this was checked. Every price and capability above was read from the vendor’s own pricing and features pages on 15 September 2026. Where a vendor does not publish an answer we say so rather than guess. Software changes — if something here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Credit where it is due.
- Unlimited dogs, litters and puppies on a single flat plan — no cap to grow out of.
- Genuine payment infrastructure: Stripe card and ACH, deposits, invoices, and a buyer portal.
- Contracts with digital signatures are included rather than sold as a tier.
- A 30-day run at the whole product before a card is taken, which is a confident thing to offer.
The gaps that cost you a sale.
- No marketplace. Your listings are visible to people you already sent a link to.
- No video calls, so the introduction happens on whatever app you and the buyer agree on.
- Payments pass straight through — there is no held balance standing behind the buyer.
- The website that makes you findable is a second $29.99, which makes the real comparison $59.98.
Pick BreederBuddy when this is your problem.
A breeder with a full waitlist who needs the paperwork organised, not the buyers found. If your litters are spoken for before they are born, BreederBuddy does the part you actually need and does it well.
Pick KennelBoss when this is your problem.
Compare the plans on what you need from them. If your problem is admin, BreederBuddy is cheaper than KennelBoss and loses very little. If your problem is empty spots in a litter, BreederBuddy has no answer at any price, because finding buyers is not what it was built to do.
The short version: KennelBoss exists to market your litters, book the video chat, and collect the $500 reservation deposit that takes the puppy off the market. You handle the remaining balance at pickup, and it is held until you confirm the hand-off. That is the job — see litter marketing, buyer video calls and payment protection.
Is KennelBoss more expensive than BreederBuddy?+
Yes, on the sticker. BreederBuddy is $29.99 a month and KennelBoss is $49.99, or $449 a year. The comparison gets closer once you add BreederBuddy's website at +$29.99, which brings it to $59.98 a month — and KennelBoss includes the marketplace listings, video calls and deposit handling that BreederBuddy does not sell at all.
Does BreederBuddy have a puppy marketplace?+
No. As of 15 September 2026 nothing on BreederBuddy's own features or pricing pages describes a public marketplace or directory where buyers browse litters. It has a buyer portal, which is a different thing: a place for a buyer you already have, not a place buyers come from.
Can I move my records from BreederBuddy to KennelBoss?+
Yes. Bring your dogs, litters, health records and buyer contacts across and we will map them for you. Your records are yours in both products — neither of us holds them hostage.
Which one takes a cut of my puppy sales?+
Neither takes a percentage. KennelBoss charges a flat $100 introduction fee, once, when PickMePets introduced the buyer — taken out of the $500 reservation deposit, so you still receive $400 of it and owe nothing later. A buyer you found yourself carries no fee. BreederBuddy takes no sale fee; you pay Stripe's processing like anyone else.

Software is cheap. An empty spot in a litter is not.
List the litter where buyers are looking, meet them on video, and take the deposit that holds the puppy.
