Forty loci, not just colour

Base coat, pattern and markings, coat texture and length, body features, size and structure. E, B, D, K, A, S, M and the rest are modelled with their real dominance order, so merle, brindle, parti and furnishings behave the way they do in a litter rather than the way a colour chart suggests.

Percentages from the pairing, not averages

Every locus is crossed as a Punnett square and the results combined into phenotypes with their likelihoods. It is the arithmetic a breeder does on paper for one locus, done for all of them at once and without the slip.

Generation worked out properly

F1 × F1 is an F1B, not another F1 — the pairing table knows the difference, including the doodle crosses most often got wrong. Pairings the table does not cover and that match on both sides breed true rather than reporting “mixed”.

How many traits does it actually predict?

Do I need both parents DNA tested?

For colour odds, yes — the forecast reads the genotypes you entered. Generation and the estimated adult weight range come from the parents' own records and work without a panel.

Is it on the phone or only the desktop?

Both. The same engine runs in the app and the dashboard, so a pairing you model in the kennel gives the same answer as one modelled at the desk.
